Description
The buttons on these true replica tuning machines have no green color, as is common. These are a mostly opaque, semi-translucent, creamy swirly color, as is true to vintage machines.Tastefully aged nickel hardware and boutique aged custom plastic keystone buttons. These look amazingly like a 1960's Gibson set, just check the photos of originals at the burstserial website for comparison. Beautiful reproductions that don't look like they were retrieved from a shipwreck but are tastefully aged with a nice dull patina, that still retains some shine. Though these plastic buttons look like originals, they are made of modern materials and will not shrink or turn to dust and fall apart over time.
This Kluson® 3 per side tuning machine set has imitation pearloid keystone style buttons and the improved 15:1 gear ratio for more stable and accurate tuning. The housing and button style are period correct for 1960 - 1964 production dates. These feature the standard string thru post. This set comes complete with both bass and treble side tuners, 8.8mm O.D. vintage bushings with 1/4 inch I.D. (part#MB65N US) and mounting screws (TMSC)needed for installation.
See below for any historic period-correct replacement info.
Please note: If you are retro-fitting a vintage instrument that has been modified or putting this vintage style tuning machine on a modern instrument you may also need to purchase appropriate adaptor bushings. These adapter bushings were specifically designed to convert a larger size peghole to vintage size to allow for proper fit and function.
