Description
Item Number 19-388Antique ice cream scoop made by the Dover Manufacturing Company of Dover, New Hampshire between 1910 and 1920. It is stamped with the number "24" on the end of the pivot shaft which indicates that this scoop will make 24 scoops per quart of ice cream. A unique lever action geared design which provides for dislodging the scooped ice cream with a simple push on the lever providing for single hand operation. The scoop measures 10 inches long by 4 inches wide at lever handle. The scoop is 2 inches in diameter.
In good condition, no cracks in the wooden handle and the handle has nice patina. There is a little wear on the scoop release handle gear from use so it does not operate as smoothly as would be expected, but is still nicely functional. A very nice ice cream related collectible that is still useable for its designed purpose to make ice cream scoops.
