Antique James Dixon & Sons World-Renowned Silversmith Silver Plated Tantalus Two Decanters/Claret Jug, Sheffield, England.
Late 19th century.
Stamped JD & S  EP  F 616
Tantalus has central handle, engraved edge, raised on 4 bun feet.
Ruby glass decanter with label Brandy, with stopper, pouring spout on the lip, single handle.
The bottom part of the handle has rough edge, barely noticeable. Bottles have some stains inside. The top of the jug is not closing tightly. Second glass decanter -missing stopper. No chips, no cracks, no repairs, no damage. See pictures for reference.
Decanter with handle H 8.5" at widest point 5.5"
Decanter without stopper H 9.75" across top 1.75"
Good condition, minor wear for its age and use. No dents, needs to be re polished.
