    Description

    ANTIQUE MERIDEN BRITANNIA
    DOUBLE WALLED ICE PITCHER
    features thick bands of embossed designs along with an angular handle and geometric finial. It sits upon an applied circular foot, a design that the Victorians borrowed from the Japanese. The handle is finished with floral stems at the base and a repeating foliate motif at the top. The spout features a large repousse shell (resembling also a bird's head) at its base. The uppermost portion of the spout shows an embossed scene of a group of hunters & animals. (No doubt the hunters thus train to lift this 5 lb+ pitcher when it's filled with ice water lol)
