Antique American Pitcher by Wallace Silversmiths. 1875 - 1879. Silver on cooper. Restored.R. Wallace & Sons
was formed in
Wallingford, Connecticut
and incorporated in 1879. As of 1893, this company manufactured silver and plated ware and cutlery and had about 600 employees.
Over the years, the Wallace companies had three names: R. Wallace & Sons (1856), Wallace Brothers Silver Company (1856-1884) and Wallace Silversmiths (founded 1875)
Pitcher is in good to great antique condition. It was made in 1875-1879. Stamp
says
"Made & Plated by Wallace Bro's Silver Co V1521". Also has marking 253. Material: silverplate over cast steel. Size approximately 9" x 9".
Cleaned by professional jewelry artist to medium shine. Has minor scratches and dents - please look at the picture.
