Barbour Silver Company water pitcher - circa 1892.
Pitcher is Hexagonal in shape having six panels in profuse raised relief of studies from life including Dutch outdoor folk dancing, musicians, windmills, drinking ale, serpentine handle. Incredible raised relief designs all over.
Circa 1890s.
Marked on bottom: “3027”/ Barbour S.P.Co. / International Co.”
Material: made of heavily embossed copper, electro silver plated and oxidized soft French gray finish.
Condition. Used. Tarnish in and around raised relief areas. No chips or cracks. No dents.,Interior with original old patina, tarnish, metal pitting, verdigris, surface rust. Silver plate on outside of pitcher has worn through to copper in some areas. Great work of art with immense character that makes for a striking antique collectible silver display piece. I do not know all metal content of these old metal pieces, so would NOT recommend for use in food or liquid consumption. Please see photos for detailed views. Photos are part of item description.
