    Description

In 1985 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Lodge 80 they issued several patches. There was a 50th anniversary committee assembled to oversee the events and patches issued. They would later (1986) issue the “Committee” round patch as a thank you to those who served on the 50 anniversary committee. Small run and obscure patch.
My good friend the late Alan Caldwell was in charge of the patches issued for the 50th anniversary and had a handful of these flaps made in GMY to show the committee different border options to vote on. The committee ultimately voted to do a GMY border on the round issued that year and a regular yellow/gold border on the flaps issued that year.
This is one of the GMY border prototypes rarely seen. I don’t remember how many Alan had made for the committee to view but it was only around a handful.
