Stop your searching.  Ive done the research and trials. There are a couple of conclussions I have come up with.
One is that the rods have to be graphene impregnated.  This makes them way stronger and not flexible like a piece of plastic.  The second thing is it has to be rectangle not square.  The square ones just have too much flex still.  These rods only flex as much as you want them to and no more.  Truss rods will still work with these.
These can also be cut down. I apply CA glue to the cut end when done.
I use these on all of my guitar necks now and you should too.  All you need is a 2mm straight router bit or a slot cutter and your set.
These are almost 20 inches long 500mm 2mm wide and 8mm tall
