THE AUCTION IS FOR A QUADRUPLE PLATE LARGE WATER PITCHER FROM VICTORIAN PERIOD.
THE SIZE: 8 3/4 INCHES TALL, LESS THEN 4 INCHES BOTTOM DIAMETER.
THE MAKER: JAMES W. TUFTS, BOSTON, QUADRUPLE PLATE, 2348.
THE CONDITION: EXCELLENT STRUCTURALLY, NO DENTS, BLACK FROM TARNISH, EXCEPT THE BOTTOM WITH MAKER'S LOGO, ALMOST SHINY. PROBABLY SILVER LOSS. THE UPPER WAVY RIM IN A FORM OF PIE CRUST IS A LITTLE MISSHAPED. THE LARGE BEADED RIM IN UPPER AND LOWER PART MATCHES THE SAME DESIGN ON THE LARGE HANDLE. THERE IS A SCENE WITH CHERUBS OR LITTLE BOYS PLAYING ON DIFFERENT INSTRUMENTS. GORGEOUS FLORAL DESIGN AROUND THE SCENE.
