Please be advised that I do not use "flash" in my photos, as this distorts the actual image
of the items I display and represent.  I only use natural filtered lighting so as to capture
the fine impressions and details, to present my items in their true appearance.
Also, know that when photographing shiny and reflective objects as silver, there will
be "backdrop images" that distort the actual image/impressions of the item(s).

    SAMOVAR URN
A Most Impressive Antique Samovar Urn Indeed!!
    Superb Quality & Craftsmanship
    !
This stunning urn displays beautiful embossed roaring lion heads designs
to each handle, and lion heads to each four (4) legs, as well as lion pawed feet.
Beautiful etched flora designs to the body of the urn.  Art Deco Gothic designs
to the finial, around the spout base, and to the handles & legs ~ absolutely breathtaking!
Shiny heavy dark patina remains undisturbed as this urn is beautiful in it's unpolished condition,
though this urn can certainly be polished to it's original shiny silver mirror image if so desired.
(A lot of muscle goes into the hand polishing work, though the results will be very rewarding).
A heavy piece this samovar urn is too ~ weighs 5 pounds 10 ounces without liquid contents!
There are numbers at the bottom base of the body 1401, and possibly a maker's mark
on the bottom base as well, though so heavily tarnished, not visible unless polished?
The spout is marked Hayden patented 1869.
There are no areas of obvious silver plate loss detected beneath layer of patina, though cannot
be certain, nor are there any visible dings or dents.  There is an obvious crack to one
of the plastic handle spout knobs, though I see no threat of separation.
There is a very slight bend to the finial (tilts to one side) and really not overly obvious at all!
(It is very important that you do not try to straighten the finial as it will snap off).
The spigot appears to be made of brass ~ a lovely contrast to the silver plate,
and operates perfectly ~ turns easily to release the fluid within
and closes to stop the liquid flow ~ does not leak.  The original burner pot is missing,
however a small dish with tealight candle can be used in place for heat if so desired.
There is a separation from one of the base stems leading to the burner ring holder
(see photos #8 & #9), though not obvious.
A slight "wobble" to the stance, though not considered a defect, and can be
remedied by attaching a small felt table saver circular piece beneath the leg(s).  It is highly
recommended that no physical attempt is made to straighten the legs, unless professionally done.
The interior has very light tarnish or stain though no corrosion/rust or pitting ~ clean!
Minute and light scratches/scuffs all around due to use and age.
Overall, this antique samovar urn is considered to be in excellent
vintage condition for it's age of 130+ years old.
