Victorian Cut Glass And Silverplate Ornate Claret Pitcher w Lion And Griffins.
This is a gorgeous claret pitcher with a lion on the lid with carved griffins on the sides and a maiden on the handle. Very well crafted, the Silverplate is very ornate, it has a metal bar that you pull to get the lid up. The lid has about a quarter of an inch gap before closing all the way, might need to be adjusted. I am leaving the patina as found, will let the buyer decide whether to polish or not.
There is no signature or marks anywhere on this, the cut glass is very delicate and well done, as far as I can see there are no chips or cracks. This is rare, have scoured the net and could not find one close to matching this.
It measures 13.5” tall, 7.5 wide on the side with the handle, the other side measures 4.5” across. Please see photos for condition.
