Vintage 1940s 1950s HOLLYWOOD-STYLE Rock-a-billy Dress - size small

Description

A fun, original treasure. I don't know what this fabric is (acetate comes to mind?) but it has a nice medium-weight hand that drapes and flows beautifully. Sleeveless dress has wonderful box-pleat, folded fabric trim, and there is a fun ruched gathering at the center front chest. The bolero has origami folded cap sleeves that add a wonderful period touch. You don't see these type of quality details anymore.
The gown zips at the back from just below the waist. There is a 1.5" hem if additional length is needed. Great period fabric. No smells or tears found. One rust (?) stain on bolero back near left sleeve (see last photo).

bolero shoulder = 15"
bolero sleeve length = 10.5"
bottom hem sweep = approx 134"
