Vintage Solid 14K Yellow Gold Elephant Stick Pin ~Ruby Eyes ~One Owner~

Description

This auction is for a beautiful, vintage solid 14K yellow gold elephant stick pin with ruby eyes.  The little gold elephant has a full, lifelike body with trunk out and 2 tusks.  The elephant has nice details on the body.  All parts of the pin are 14K gold (elephant, stick pin and clasp on the end).   The elephant is secured to the pin with loops and hangs nicely from the stick pin.  The clasp is tight on the stick pin but can be pulled off easily.   The pin looks very elegant and sophisticated when worn on the lapel of a jacket or coat.  Consider hand work went in to the crafting of this elephant stick pin.  It is an uncommon design and very eye catching.
I purchased the pin as new in about 1980 in a fine jewelry store in Beverly Hills, CA that specialized in beautiful wildlife designs on jewelry.  I don't recall the name of the jewelry store but purchased several pieces of jewelry from the store.
The pin is unmarked but was sold to me as 14K gold with ruby eyes.  The elephant, stick pin and end clasp all tested as 14K gold using a GXL Next electronic tester (which is non-invasive).  The stones in the eyes tested as rubies using a Presidium gem tester.  The pin was recently profesionally cleaned.  The jeweler verified that the elephant pin is 14K gold and the eyes are genuine rubies.  Rubies are the birth stone for babies born in the month of July.
The darling elephant pin is small but very well made and beautiful.  It is substantial for the size.  I am the only owner of the pin and did not wear it very often.   The pin is in excellent pre-owned condition.  There could be small surface scartches from use.  The elephant pin was stored by itself in a jewely holder and I took very good care of it.  There is no damage.  No repairs.
One great aspect of buying real gold jewelry is the precious metal content.  There is definite value in the gold metal.  And there is great enjoyment and beauty in the gold jewelry.  With the lovely design and quality of this beautiful elephant pin, it is like wearing art.
