The Mannikin dolls were made in the 1940s by pattern companies. They were used as teaching tools for young girls who could make clothing just like adult clothing and then display the clothes on these dolls. Due to their popularity the mannequin style doll was made by several different companies and many patterns were made for them. The most popular size of doll was 12-12.5", but they were also made in 15" and 20" sizes.
This pattern was originally created March 8, 1943. The copyright for this pattern has expired and it entered the public domain Jan 1, 1972.
