    Description

This is a PHOTOCOPY of a Vintage 1940s pattern to make a 12" tall stuffed doll and 7 different costumes. These costumes are also designed to fit commercial 12 inch tall Godey Lady Book Dolls with china heads by Ruth Gibbs. So, you can use the clothes for either the stuffed doll or a separately purchased china-head doll. The costumes are: Dinner Dress, Tea Gown, Walking Dress, Bridal or Wedding Gown, Morning Dress, Ball Gown, Coat and Bonnet (view G), Long Panties and Petticoat. According to the pattern description: Doll collectors will be pleased with these authentic costumes (circa 1860) for such noteworthies as Mrs. Cartright (A); Mrs. Cabot (B); Mrs. Carter (C); Miss Jennifer Boyles (D); Mrs. Enright (E) and Mrs. Eustis (F), pictured on front of envelope. I include a COLOR printout copy of the front cover and black and white copies of the back cover, instructions and the complete pattern. Please email me with any questions that you have.
The Godey's Lady's Book was a magazine that was published in the 1800s.  The magazine was most notable for their color tinted fashion plates that appeared in every issue. Godey Lady has become synonymous with high fashion of the 1800s.
