WILCOX SILVER PLATE - ARTS & CRAFTS - 4 PC ICE WATER SET - INSULATED PITCHER "R"

4 PC - ICE WATER SERVING SET by WILCOX SILVER PLATE CO. of MERIDEN, CONN. - monogrammed "R"  Pieces are VERY heavy.  Arts & Crafts style details with heavy applied floral & foliage branches.
(1)  -  Tray - 12 X 12"  (1282 g weight)
(1)  -  Insulated ice water pitcher - 9" high  (1246 g)
(1)  -  Goblet -  6" high goblet  (308 g)
(1)  -  Waste bowl -  3 1/4" high, 4 3/4" diameter  (346 g)
The goblet and waste bowl have marking on bottom - (crossed hammers in circle)  WILCOX SILVER PLATE CO. around circle, then QUADRUPLE PLATE   MERIDEN CONN around that circle.  Goblet marked - 1287 GILT.  Waste bowl marked - 382 GILT.  Pitcher likely was marked also, but has significant wear on bottom from use.  No maker's mark on tray.  All pieces have same monogram - "R".
Date of production is estimated to be 1875 - 1898 per marks.  No records/catalogs discovered with these piece numbers.  The 'GILT' note indicates that a specialty finish was part of the design - little evidence remains, but some evidence that there was more to the finish on the upper portion of bowl and goblet, possibly pitcher.  Tray appears to have only been shiny silver plated finish, with satin finish on bottom.
All pieces are in nice antique condition with evidence of use.  Pitcher has some scars & nicks, a bit of black corrosion near left side of applied branches, and an indention on back side.  Insulated lining is intact and useable. Goblet is in very good condition with some darkened finish on inside & outside of bowl.  Waste bowl has some black spotting in bowl and darkened areas of finish on outside.  Tray has etching & scuffs from use, shiny finish, some rough spots around outer edge.
